Etrade Mortgage is one of my favorite places to shop for mortgages. I find their rates for fixed rate mortages, arms, and interest only loans to be very reasonable. If you choose not to use them, you can still use their mortgage quote tool and compare that to a quote from a mortgage broker to make sure the quote that was provided to you is reasonable or to look for charges in the estimate that don't seem to make sense. There are many other mortgage providers that I have heard good things about. One of them is Wells Fargo. Some of the suggestions I've heard about getting the best rate on a mortgage is call them and ask them to beat a competing bid for a 30 year fixed mortgage, an arm mortgage, and an interest only mortgage. Mortgage rates seem to be moving up and down at this time. If you see a mortgage rate that you like, it is most likely worth securing the rate from a trusted firm.
